We believe that third-party certification provides our stakeholders with balanced, reliable information about how we measure-up to other school districts. For these purposes, we have been using Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Energy Star standards at various sites across the District.
LEED Highlights
· Gordon Parks High School is the only LEED Certified K-12 School in the Twin Cities metro area* and one of only a handful in the entire state. Learn more about LEED.
· Battle Creek Elementary is participating in the "Adopt-A-School" program through the MN Chapter of the US Green Building Council where local professionals are donating time and expertise to make it LEED Registered. Learn more about the Adopt-A-School Program.
· With 5 LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, we have the expertise we need to make holistic, informed sustainable building decisions.
Energy Star Highlights

Gordon Parks ALC - built in 2007, received the LEED Certification in 2011 making it the first of any Senior High School in Minnesota.
