Who is repsonsible for lawn care at my building and when do they do it?

Grounds staff cut the large grass areas at each site on a 10 workday cycle between April 15th and November 1st, weather permitting.  It may take up to two days to complete the job at some sites.

Once the large areas have been mowed, Building Engineers are responsbiole for trimming weeds and grass wherever the large mowers cannot cut.  This includes timming winthin at least a push lawn mower width around the building and all stationary objects, including but not limited to; dumpsters, bike racks, telephone poles, guide wires, hydrants, signs etc.  This work should be completed 1-2 days after the Grounds Staff has finished mowing.

The City of St Paul Parks & Rec staff performs all grass cutting and trimming work at these joint use sites:

Who is responsible for taking care of our courtyard? Building Engineers are repsonsible for lawn care in the courtyard areas.

Who is responsbile for maintaining our school garden? School garden upkeep, water and maintenance is the repsonsibilty of school staff.  The school needs to supply all hoses and sprinklers.

What are the rules on watering?

  • New trees - Building Engineer

Who picks up the litter and trash at my site and how often is it done? Building Enigneers perform weekly trash pickup of the entire site.

Who empties the trash barrels on school grounds and how often is it done? The Grounds staff empties trash barrels at each location weekly or upon request.
